Single Carlow man looking for love to appear on hit RTÉ show Pulling With My Parents

Athlone will be represented tonight on the popular RTE 2 reality dating show ‘First Dates’, when local physical therapist Emer Dunne sits down for dinner with Offaly funnyman Edwin Sammon. Emer, who is well-known among the local health and business community, is a physical therapist at Athlone Chiropractic Care as well as a Chakra Dance facilitator and doTERRA essential oils wellness advocate. She was paired for the date with Edwin, from Birr, who has built up a huge fanbase for his role as the hapless Fr Gabriel in RTE’s ‘Bridget and Eamon’ comedy series, and also as a regular on the ‘Republic of Telly’ programme.
However, according to a clip released in advance of tonight’s programme, while year-old Emer feels her date looks familiar, she has never seen ‘Bridget and Eamonn’ so is wholly unaware of his celebrity status. Having been diagnosed with cancer in at the age of 38, Edwin said his brush with mortality spurred his ambition to pursue a career in comedy.
Now working as a stand-up comedian, he is currently touring his hilarious new show, aptly called ‘Edwin Sammon of Knowledge’.
